This Privacy Policy applies to Khaos Machine, the website at khaosmachine.com, and all related services operated by Khaos Inc. ("we", "us", "our").

Our Philosophy

At Khaos Inc., your privacy is a priority. We provide tools to empower creators, not to mine your data. Your work, ideas, and personal information are yours — and they stay that way.

What We Collect

Khaos Machine Desktop Application: Nothing. The application runs entirely on your machine. We do not collect, transmit, or store any data about you, your projects, or your usage. Your creative work stays completely local unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Website (khaosmachine.com): We collect minimal data necessary to operate the site:

• Waitlist form: If you sign up for the waitlist, we collect your email address. This is stored in a private Google Sheet within our Google Workspace and used solely to notify you about Khaos Machine availability.
• Hosting logs: Our hosting providers (AWS CloudFront, GitHub Pages) may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps). We do not actively analyze or retain this data.

Your Projects, Your Control

Every project you work on with Khaos Machine stays completely in your control. Projects are sandboxed on your local filesystem — they stay isolated, secure, and accessible only to you. No one, including us, has access to your work unless you explicitly decide to share it.

What We Don't Do

• We do not use tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or third-party trackers on our website.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
• We do not send your screenplay data to any external server.

Third-Party Services

Our website uses the following third-party services:

• AWS CloudFront / S3: Website hosting and content delivery.
• GitHub Pages: Blog hosting (blog.khaosmachine.com).
• Google Fonts: Font delivery for the blog.
• Google Apps Script: Waitlist form processing.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

Cookies

We do not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services (e.g., CDN providers) may use technical cookies necessary for content delivery. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Retention

Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request removal or until we complete the waitlist process. You can request removal at any time by emailing us.

Acceptance

• Use the software for any unlawful purpose.

Your Content

You retain all rights to your screenplays, projects, and creative work. Khaos Inc. claims no ownership or license over any content you create using Khaos Machine. Your projects are stored locally on your device and are not accessible to us.

Website Content

All content on khaosmachine.com and blog.khaosmachine.com — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by Khaos Inc. and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Waitlist

Signing up for the waitlist does not guarantee access to Khaos Machine. Access is granted at our discretion during the beta period.

Disclaimer

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Khaos Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.

Changes

We may update these Terms and Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
